Isn't it IRONIC !!!

Its nice to get back to blogging after a very long time. Guess you could say life kinda pushed me back here... gave me something to write about.

I always thought of myself as this guy who couldnt wait to start working, that was of course after i finally decided i knew what it was that i wanted to do. I held myself to only one rule - do something that you love, that you can enjoy doing as long as you do it.

I didnt really think it was a tall order. So that was the plan. Decide what to do... get a job... work till you drop. So now that i was sure of these aspects, one thing i thought i was sure about was that when i do get the job, im gonna stick on for a long time.

And believe me, for the longest time i truly believed that. Even when ACJ came to a close, i was still under this impression. But you know, life doesnt turn out the way you think it will. So there i was - the guy who thought he was gonna hold on to a job for dear life - taking the stride into the job market...

Isn't it ironic.... 11 months on.... The person who thought he was a keeper turned out - he was looking for something he couldnt quite find. The jobs were varied - they may not have seemed that way but believe me they were. Some jobs had - bad memories, horrible bosses, triumphant days, joys of a job well done, celebrating a million new beginnings, exclamations from those who heard about it, "No, don't tell me, No." Fingers counting off the jobs and the days.

Isn't it ironic - what he thought 11 months ago did not come to pass - and guess what, he has no regrets, none at all. its been a great year. He just thanks God for the wonderful opportunities to experience so many different places and people. How many people can say they felt what it was to work in so many varied situations? I learnt something from every one of them.

Now on to stability... still looking for something to hang on to. atleast until the west wind comes calling yet again. But one of these days, i just may not answer her call at all. Then i guess at that point, i would have come full circle.... isn't it IRONIC.

You all know the song....

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
Isn't it ironic... don't you think

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought "Well, isn't this nice."
And isn't it ironic ... don't you think

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out
When you think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up in your face

A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
A little too ironic.. and yeah I really do think...

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out
